Aleph seeks to provide an interdisciplinary academic journal that publishes the outstanding scholarly works of undergraduate students conducting research in the humanities and social sciences. The editorial staff of Aleph reviews submissions for publication early in the spring quarter. Past submissions include papers written for research seminars, honors theses, independent research papers, and so forth. After an intensive peer-review process, we publish selected submissions (25-30 pages in length) in an annual journal. Our goal is to publish a diverse group of papers that reflect the quality and breadth of undergraduate research at UCLA.

Aleph offers a wonderful and unique opportunity for motivated and talented UCLA undergraduates to see their hard efforts reach the printing press. Moreover, the authors of selected papers receive the Vice Provost's Recognition Award at an end-of-the-year awards ceremony.
